did southpark put a good message across about schiavo?

i thought it was pretty poignant, i didn't see the connection til the end of the show-they did such a subtle job of it. and a respectful job of it, except for when they cut to the scene of stallone and his translator. LMFAO :silly:

and whatever the analogy is that your making, I doubt that it was intentional. I'm sure that episode was in the can months ago.

But what exactly are you trying to say? I'm not the brightest bulb in the box, but in my experience, South Park is not very subtle - E.G. the giant douche/turd sandwich episode.

the South Park folks will work to weave in topical material for an episode and have sometimes finished with less than a week before the show actually airs.

That allows them to do a turnaround on a story within two weeks.
Thus, you see topical news items mentioned within a news cycle.

not all south park story boards are thought out months in advance. for example, the episode "christmas in canada" showed an image of SADDAM that had just appeared a few days in the news before the airing of the south park.
anyway, the episode last night was about the children setting up a talent show agency and in the course of it, become the agent of a chinese woman singer who is appearing on american idol.
through the course of events, the end of the show becomes a message about our place in interfering with someones life. i don't have a transcript, but it was a very strong reference to terri schiavo. at least i'm pretty certain it was.
it was subtle because they chose a completely radical opposite example to make their point on terri schiavo: an asian singer vs. a caucasion patient....etc.

Less than two weeks after the EG photo came out . . .

that they stay pretty current with their shows in relationship to pop culture and the news, but then they'll bring something out that was popular a long time ago. like last night the children all started singing 'who let the dogs out'
it was completely ridiculous, but hilarious.

But at least it was funny, which is more than I can say for the previous two weeks. I was starting to think this season was going to be a dud.
