Louisville is the most underrated basketball team in the country
Of course I am biased since I go there.

Not only did we give a spanking to No. 1 seeded Washington tonight but we also spanked Georgia Tech who made it to the final game last year AND beat North Carolina less than two weeks ago.

I hope Texas Tech wins so we can beat the shit out of Bobby Knight in the next game. Goddamn that guy is a POS.

Oh yeah and Duke Sucks

7. At least you can pronounce Frederica St.
If you haven't seen Wesleyan lately, you'd be amazed. Lotsa new buildings going up.

Panthers are my #1 Div II team.

Gotta go Cats, then Cards for Div I. I went to UK.

My wife's the oddball - Murray State.

Want something from Old Hickory (you know it's better than Moonlite) about now?

9. I love the smell of sour mash in the morning.....
Edited on Fri Mar-25-05 01:10 AM by yellowdogintexas
freshman year..."what the hell is that smell"

sophomore Year...."hardly notice it"

back for fifth year reunions.." Ahh sour mash, I am back home..."

LOL

Love my Panthers. Bad year this time around but we will be back, we always are. Class of 1969 here.

My cousin and his wife went to Murray State, plus about 1/3 of my high school class.

Old Hickory is definitely better than Moonlite..but as a native of the lower state line area, I really like that vinegary hot sauce on pulled pork. Lucky for me there is a Red Hot and Blue near my house and I can get over my pulled pig homesickblues there.

Is the Smokehouse still around?

Last time I was on campus was maybe 10 years ago.

10. The smokehouse is gone. Sorry.
Does it show that I'm an Owensboro native?

You sound like you're from either Hoptown or Paducah. Paducah I can do. Starnes ain't too bad. Different from Owensboro style, but good. I get Paducah pushed on me a bit. My wife is from there. Tilghman, then Murray State.

When the sour mash was down, you always had owensboro Grain or the paper mill to fill in the smell void.

Imagine going to Daviess Co. Junior High (well, it was a junior high back then) with no air conditioning, sandwiched between the distillery and the grain mill. Some days, I wanted to burn my clothes.

12. I can well imagine wanting to burn your clothes.
I am from east of Hopkinsville, due north of Clarksville Tennessee, actually. There are some good local guys doing magic stuff with the pit in Russellville, Elkton, Guthrie, and Clarksville.

I don't remember the paper mill smell. Maybe it is downwind from the college!

Or newer than 1969!

KWC class of 1969, by the way.

Always nice to encounter another Kentuckian

14. Wendell Ford...cool. I really liked him!
He may have been my favorite Kentucky governor, w/Martha Layne second.

No good Dem relatives, but Jim Wright is a member of my church and I have been fortunate to get to know him. Wonderful guy!!!!!

I don't know Cerulian, but there are some strange little towns between home and Owensboro. We used to make up funny stories about the towns on the many trips back & forth to school each year. Not that my town is anything to brag about, understand.
