EAW: Save the Date
Employee Appreciation Week is in September this year – and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever, as we welcome our new Charter One colleagues! :argh:

8. About thirty of us got laid off at the same time

from a company with about 150 employees

They did it the same day as the weekly company sponsored employee "Friday Afternoon Club" in the lobby. The survivors were partying in the big atrium-lobby, drinking company-provided microbrews, eating pizza and having fun while the security guards escorted groups of five or six of us at a time through the lobby and out the door.

Couldn't have been worse.


That was the last decent severance package I got. Since then, three more layoffs with parting gifts ranging from two weeks pay to nada.

It's gonna be bigger and better this year, because we just dumped an entire dept.
