Rogah Clemens is a punk
that's right: a punk.

Pedro, Nomar and the boys are going to give him the send off from MLB that he deserves. Tomorrow night, Yankee stadium, watch it Yankee fans and weep!

2. I have a fonder memory
Game 4: 1990 ALCS against Oakland. Ol' Crybaby Clemems is thrown out of the game for cursing at the umpire about balls and strikes. He then has the temper tantrum of all temper tantrums.

18. Damn--and he was a Red Sox then!
He was lousy in the post-season as a Red Sox, doing ok as a Yankee.

5. if your old boy can't take the rough and tumble
of the big leagues, then its time to retire.

Not to mention, if a guy starts a fight, he can't whine when someone finishes it.

I have zero sympathy for your cry-baby.

6. Agreed. I'd say Pedro acted accordingly.
If someone takes a poke at me, I don't care how old/young they are, I remove the threat as quickly and efficiently as possible.

While Pedro indeed displayed horrible sportsmanship, Zim had no business searching him out and swiping at him like he did.

9. I think what Zim did was wrong
But to use that to negate what Pedro did isn't right either.
In fact, I look not at the Zim incident or the Garcia incident as being too bad. However, what WAS bad was Pedro pointing to his head and threatening Posada. That's the worst.

11. The threat of violence vs. actual violence
Give me a break, WindRavenX.

Like it or not, "head-hunting" is part of the game. Throwing punches is not. Zim was psyched out of his jock, and with 40+ years of basball experience, he should know better.

That's worse.

13. They were both wrong if you ask me
Pedro could've easily avoided him without hurting him. I wouldn't throw elderly to the ground, it is not my style. I wouldn't throw a woman to the ground if she came after me.

15. calling Zim elderly is silly. He would clock you if you did it to his face
here's an excerpt from Don Zimmers Book "Zim" on pitching inside.

Before others join the debate and rant hysterically please read this passage.

''I don't believe there's a human being in professional baseball who would throw a ball hoping to hit a man in the head,'' Zimmer writes. ''I was disappointed with Piazza coming out and saying Clemens threw at him on purpose. What's Clemens supposed to do? Throw the ball over the plate so Piazza can keep hitting home runs off him -- or make him feel uncomfortable?

''I've been hit in the head twice, and without the benefit of a protective helmet,'' he adds, alluding to when he was a shortstop in the Brooklyn Dodgers organization. ''The problem you have in baseball today is that hitters don't know how to get out of the way of pitches because pitchers are afraid to pitch inside anymore.''

Zimmer also writes: ''As for the bat-throwing incident, do you think Clemens was going to throw that bat at Piazza if he was standing at home plate? He had no idea Piazza was in the first-base path. If he were deliberately throwing the bat at Piazza, he would have hit him. Clemens has been made a villain in all of this because he pitches inside. I think that's unfair.''

16. That old Popeye fart had it coming.
If Pedro hadn't thrown Zimmer to the ground and Popeye got in a few shoves, Spankme fans would be boasting that Pedro got "beat up" by a Yankee geezer. It was lose/lose for Pedro.

Clemens is a Big Texan Pussy.

7. If I were Grady Little....
....I'd start Wakefield, and have Pedro in the bullpen.

Pedro's been hit by the Yankees this series....but Wake hasn't.

Plus, do any of you know how HARD it is to hit a fastball pitcher after seeing knuckleballs for 3-5 innings? Pedro would dominate the middle-to-late innings, more than ever before.

12. Usually I'd disagree
But Pedro hasn't been looking great. I think they have to have Wakefield ready to go in the bullpen if Martinez falters.

Considering how valuable Martinez is to the RedSox, there's no way Little would pass him over. It would be seen as an insult to Pedro.

8. The same clemens who tossed a bat shard at Mike Piazza?
The same clemens who didn't win game 7 of the 1986 World Series?
The same clemens who left Boston to win Cy Young's in Toronto?
The same clemens who beaned Derek Jeter?
The same clemens who Steinblower traded #33 (Wells) for?

He's a good pitcher. Roger pitches inside. He wasn't trying to kill Jeter, of course. It's time to move on.

The same clemens who beamed Mike Piazza on the head, knocking him unconcious?

Roger pitches inside. Mike was crowding the plate. Rog took responsiblity. "I mis-threw" he said. "It's time to move on."

The same clemens who broke Mike Piazza's bat and threw one of the shards of the bat right at Piazza as he was running down the line in the World Series? Game 1, no less.

THAT Roger Clemens?

The same Roger Clemens who clearly does not play baseball because he ABSOLUTELY SUCKS AT HITTING and plays in some weird league where pitchers don't bat?

May he lose his last game.

14. He tossed the shard bat
in the direction towards Piazza but I seriously doubt he was trying to injure him, I think he was just trying to get the shard bat out of the infield.

21. I'm no Piazza fan
but Clemens wasn't just trying to get the broken bat out of the outfield. He was trying to hit Piazza with the broken bat.

Clemens even had words with Piazza as he threw the bat at him.

Piazza kills Clemens--he's hit many home runs against him even though they only play against each other twice a year.

That's why the Big Texan Pussy threw a fastball at Piazza's head. And that's why the Big Texan Pussy threw a broken bat at Piazza.

19. Clemens DIDN'T Pitch Game7 of the 1986 series--he started Game 6
And he didn't lose it, because he was pulled in I believe the 7th inning when Boston was ahead.

Should have kept him in--they would have won that game.

20. Ahh...there is debate on whether he was pulled, or asked out...
I believe he had developed a blister, and depending on who you talk to, either asked to be removed or was removed because of that. Regardless, he shouldn't have gone to the locker room to shave. I think that fired the Mets up a bit.

23. It wasn't Clemens
Who left Buckner in for sentimental reasons instead of replacing him with glove man Stapleton.

It wasn't Clemens who threw meatballs to Carter, Mitchell and Knight in the bottom of the tenth.

It wasn't Clemens who threw the wild pitch to Wilson.

It wasn't Clemens who let the ball trickle between his legs....

And it wasn't Clemens who lost game 7 two days later...

But hell, it wasn't Cleemns who acted like a cheap-ass punk the otehr day, either...that was Peeedro....

But Clemens has always been a prick. He's going to go in the HOF with a dollar sign on his cap.

24. Do Boston fans still blame Buckner?
The game was already tied when Buckner made an error. I would have blamed Calvin Schiraldi for blowing the save.
