...who doesn't give a SHIT about Terry Schiavo. I'm more concerned with the humanitarian crisis in Darfur and the condition of the US troops and Iraqi civilians in Iraq right now.

Schiavo is NONE of my concern.

Am I the only person on this planet who doesn't give a rip???

1. I think much of the concern is not about Ms. Shiavo per se

as much as it is about the abuse of power, the attempt to attack the judiciary and the attack on states right. I think those are very important issues. For me, my concern is how the rule of law is taking a beating in this country.

Although sympathy for Mrs. Schiavo and the circus she's being dragged through is pretty common also, the greater issues are what concern many of us the most.

However, I'm bemused by the number of people debating whether she should or should not have her feeding tube removed/inserted.

When asked for my opinion, I simply state that my opinion doesn't matter - it is not my place to make that decision, "nor is it yours" I tell them (which generally pisses people off but it's true).

Bottom line is that this should not be a 24 hour a day news alert fest - it should be a private decision by the people involved. They brought it to the courts - that makes it the court's decision. Not mine, not Congress' and not anyone else's.
