I still don't have an answer
The board consisted of four guys. They had a page of prepared questions, I answered all of them. There were a few follow up questions, which I also answered. I got very positive vibes from at least two of the four...one of whom is (hopefully) my future supervisor.

They said they will make a decision by the middle of next week, and I will get a call either way.

6. Yep!
Just talked to my stepdad...He saw my (hopefully) future supervisor tonight when he went to the hall to hire out. He said that he considered it to be a good sign that the guy didn't avoid him.
