1. I went with Cleveland because Dayton's scene is small

2. None of those cities are too terrible.
Except Akron. It sucks. And in Dayton, it's either washed-up former names that are visiting or cover bands. Still, there are some really good, inventive cover bands out there.

Hey! I'm going home next weekend to play in a benefit concert. Is there anything you'd like me to pee on while I'm in town?

6. Akron had a GREAT music scene in the day.
The Bizarros, Rubber City Rebels, Rachel Sweet, Devo... Chrissy Hynde was from Akron, even though the Pretenders was formed in the UK.

Even today, the Black Keys are Akronians.

Don't pee on anyTHING. If you want some names of people to pee on, PM me. ;)

3. Cleveland-Akron, far and away....
Pere Ubu, Peter Laughner, Numbers Band, Rasberries, Devo, Dead Boys, Rocket From The Tombs, Human Switchboard, James Gang, Outsiders, etc....

5. I didn't know Ohio had much of a music scene outside Cleveland
but I am sure Columbus, the largest city in Ohio with 700,000+ residents must have something by default.

7. Well, Cincy had/has the Ass Ponys and the Afghan Whigs...
Not to mention many great local bands...such as Hogscraper. The world's first and only satanic jug band. :D

9. Has?
Whigs haven't recorded a record in almost a decade. And do any of them (other than Curley) live in Cinti anymore?

And are the Ass Ponys still around? I thought they were defunct. Anyway, the Mortals were better.

10. Well, as usual, you know nothing.
The Ass Ponys released an album last year. Or maybe the year before...

Don't make me call Chuck! :P

8. The correct answer is Columbus.
Vertical Slit, the Gibson Bros., Great Plains, Mike Rep and the Quotas in the '70s and '80s.

In the '90s, Rep was still around, the Bassholes, Thomas Jefferson Slave Apartments, Gaunt....

Cow Town rules for music. And for nothing else.
