MAJOR Freep controversy over constitution ....(this is pretty funny).

Is the major Supreme Court case concerning judicial review called "Mullberry v Madison" or "Mayberry v Madison"? One called it Mullberry, whereupon another Freep informed him that it was Mayberry v Madison. The first Freep returned and apologized for his mistake-"its been a long, frustrating day".

These guys are regular constitutional scholars, aren't they. Hell, I studied MARBURY v Madison in high school. How embarrassing, to try to discuss constitutional issues, without even knowing the name of the first truly precedent setting case in American jurisprudence. Dumb assholes.

5. It was a crowded thread, and NO ONE on the thread was smart enough
to correct them. I'd expect a decently educated high school senior to be able to do so. What can you expect from people who want a theocracy?

Didn't protesters bring her dill pickles and fried chicken? I vaguely remember that case.....

on edit: I like your description of Mayberry v Mt Pilot better! Otis was one of my favorites....

In that episode, the cops from Raleigh were enroute to put it back in, but Barney stopped them with his bullet.

16. Floyd the Barber..
actually did have a stroke during the series. Notice his mannerisms in early episodes compared with the color ones made before he died. Oddly enough, the cast said that Howard McNear believed he was FUNNIER after the stroke. I love the show, that's how I know this useless stuff.

13. Learning about Marbury V. Madison/ Justice Marshall should be mandatory
if anyone wants to discuss 'judicial activism'

They will realize that the precedent for an 'activist judiciary' has been around since the earliest days of the republic. I wouldn't call it 'activist', rather Justices doing their job of interpreting the law.
