I need some rock n roll.
All I can find on tv is Metallica, and I'm not a fan.

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and the Black Crowes are touring this summer...I think that is gonna be a great tour, I wanna go.

I'm in withdrawal for some real music.

3. Check out the Detroit Cobras
They play nothing but old rock n' roll, blues, and soul covers. They're really just a glorified bar band, but that's the whole beauty of them, IMO. Their singer has a great voice too.

4. maybe I'm wrong about Metallica.
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 01:42 AM by jdj
why is that VH1 has a show on Metallica, and MTV is running stupid ass teen dating shows...

When did MTV stop being the cool music show..

I guess I need to get out more.

edit: reply to #4, there's nothing wrong with a glorified bar band. they're hot, and they can actually play unlike alot of bands being promo'd now. Music is getting so fake it's scary.

5. exploding hearts
The band wastes no time kicking your ass, either: The opener, "Modern Kicks", is easily one of Guitar Romantic's best tracks, and perfectly exemplifies what makes this band's music so infectious. With its driving rhythm and insanely catchy vocal hook delivered in a bratty faux-English accent, the song plays out like an anthemically poppy and distinctly American incarnation of The Buzzcocks. But Guitar Romantic peaks with "Sleeping Aides and Razor Blades", mining the energetic melodies of everything from Big Star to Nick Lowe to the misplaced 50s-isms and lobotomized abandon of The Ramones.

Three members of Portland, Oregon-based power punk band Exploding Hearts died early Sunday morning when their van flipped over on Interstate 5 near Eugene. Adam "Baby" Cox, 23, Matthew "Matt Lock" Fitzgerald, 20, and Jeremy "Kid Killer" Gage, 21, died after being ejected from the van as it rolled, authorities said.

7. there's another kick ass band with the same story
one album, on the verge of a big break, and van accident kills half the band

you should check them out too...some of the lyrics in a couple of the songs sound almost prophetic...kind of eerie when you listen to it but really good stuff

10. you tease.
no info, no nuthin?

I'm also craving some Ian Astbury from the Cult. I heard they reunited but I don't know if that is still going on.

I think I have just given up on new stuff and become one of those people that only listens to the stuff that was going on when they were in their late teens and twenties. Sad.
