Catfish Basketball
This was a pretty interesting story from The Sunday Wichita Eagle Newspaper a couple of weeks ago.

A resident in the area saw a ball bouncing around kind of strange in a
nearby pond and went to investigate. It turned out to be a flathead catfish who had obviously tried to swallow a child's basketball which became stuck in its mouth!!

The fish was totally exhausted from trying to dive, but unable to because the ball would always bring him back up to the surface. The resident tried numerous times to get the ball out, but was unsuccessful. He finally had his wife cut the ball in order to deflate it and release the hungry catfish.

You wouldn't believe it if you didn't see the attached
photos...

2. I saw some of those big old catfish eat a duck.
I was visiting Sea World and someone was feeding the ducks and the catfish on french fries.

The duck reached too far to retrieve a fry.

*blam* end of duck.

4. If some old redneck don't catch them on a trot line, throw them
in the back of their pickup and allowed to rot while they drive around for several days showing their catch off, the flathead cat will grow to over 100 pounds..

6. I have three monsters in my 1/2 acre pond. We swim all the time
and they are very spooked of people. Never been bothered by a catfish, but the bluegills like to suck on the hairs on your legs and arms.

11. Another beautiful picture of something other than snow!
OK so I might be safe in calling it a pond.

I love Golden Labs and it looks like they're having fun.
