2. Left pinky, surgically, painlessly.
I pick my nose righty anyway.
I can use a Q-tip for my ear.

9. Same here, left pinkie...it hasn't worked right anyway
since I fell 2 years ago. It is asleep most of the time, and won't bend down all of the way.

This after I listened to a radiologist and ER doctor argue over whether it was broken, dislocated, or nothing wrong at all.

The ER doc won the argument, and sent me home, telling me to take Tylenol and use ice for the bruising. Two years later, I know the radiologist was right when he said it was not only broken, but dislocated as well. Now it has healed that way. Will I have nereve tests to see if there is damage? No, I can SHOW you the damage.

Would I let someone take it off for a million? Yep, it is just in the way now.

4. To all of the people that said zero...
I think you're lying. ;)

Seriously, a million dollars can buy enough health care to pay for almost anything you probably need in your lifetime. I'd cut-off seven or eight fingers just for that.

7. I'm not lying!
I'm an artist; I have a serious phobia of ANY damage to my hands or eyes!

If we were talking TOES, I would probably donate some for a million.

Honestly, you could probably get a testicle for a million...but fingers?
No way, no chance, nohow!

10. Same here...I'm a Sax and Piano player. I'm sure I would never
..cut off a finger for any amount.

Now..Toes ...THAT's a differant story. :)

12. No thank you. I am not for sale
nor is any part of my body.

Besides, I'm using all ten fingers! I touch-type, knit, crochet, sew, and play the 'ukulele. Of all the parts of my body, my fingers would be the last I'd part with.

14. I think you overestimate the buying power of a million bucks
especially where medical expenses are concerned

in exchange for a million tax-free and a super-strong titanium robot hand.

11. That's a tough one. As a sax-player, I can't spare a finger.
Perhaps I could do without my right thumb, but that would make shaking hands (as well as other things that I won't mention on DU) very difficult.

13. I guess we could fix up something that would attach the ...
..thumb holder to a device wrapped around our right wrist.

I'd even thought about doing away with the left pinkie and just play songs that you could get by without playing G# or low C# B Bb :)

16. I'm so used to playing in "guitar keys", that no G# would suck.
What is their fascination with playing in A and E, anyhow?

19. I know what you mean. I used to play with people who...
.. would transpose ANY song into E or A (I had to bite my tongue and not tell them that real Musicians can play in any Key)..Anyway.. I played with them so much that when I would sit in with Jazz groups I would have a "Time" getting use to playing something like Paul Desmond tunes (Eb Concert/ Alto C )

22. I would cut 1 off...
since you could probably come up with a funny story to explain how it happened, and I remember Gwyneth Paltrow in ROYAL TENENBAUMS had a finger missing, and she was still pretty hott, err...nice looking. :)
