Is the West Wing being censored?
In my television guide the description says: "A North Korean pianist slips President Bartlet a message saying he wants to defect." This was in todays newspaper. NBC of course is run by GE.

It isn't being shown with no explanation as to why?
This is odd.

10. I am so glad it wasn't on...
I had parent-teacher conferences tonight and forgot to set the VCR to tape it. I was pouting all day about it.

Stupid Cubs

2. Sorry I got interrupted. To continue about the cancellation.
The show was not shown. There was no mention of why they didn't show tonight's program. A re-run of "Law and Order" was put in it's place. Anybody know anything?

6. Baseball Playoffs
they are waiting until after the series (the rainout screwed stuff up)
It happens every year.

17. Wrong network, I think
Fox pushes everything back for baseball, but the rest usually ignore it. Besides the rain out was a couple days ago, and both games today were sceduled well in advance. My TV had a scroll in the bottom that said the episode would be next week, so it's probably all good.

3. It wasn't on tonight
Speculation was that they didn't want to waste a new episode b/c of the baseball games. However, usually networks will plan this in advance and air a re-run of the series.

I remember this happening once or twice last year. They'd pull the new episode with little or no notice.

15. Don't even fix a throw rug
I really HATE people hassling over a visit. If that is a concern I will take you to lunch rather than have you waste an ounce of energy on me :D

5. They said it was postponed until next week
I think they knew they would lose viewership (ad buckaroos) to the ALCS NLCS playoffs imho.

12. They pulled Law and Order too
They replaced the scheduled episode of Law and Order with a rerun. The ratings for the baseball playoffs have been the highest in years, and I just think they didn't want to waste new episode against them.

13. West Wing just isn't the same without Sorkin
The first couple of episodes this season were good. But the last one had terrible dialog. I used to watch West Wing religiously, but I just couldn't stand the last one. I had to change the channel -- the first time I remember quiting a West Wing episode. The dialog was too clunky. If they can't do it Sorkin's way, they shouldn't try.

Oh well. I guess I'll have to support the Wes Wing instead :)

14. Sorkin is the master of dialogue isn't he?
His story lines and character definition weren't shabby either. I think the show will tank without him personally, but I am still trying to support it and hope the producers know how to fix it. I have always maintained though that the best shows have the best writers, and if they have good actors then they have the greatest shows.

18. I tried to call our NBC affiliate here...
...and all the circuits were busy. :eyes:

Am I to understand they're holding the episode until they can snag more viewers? Don't they know they're alienating viewers they've already got? Typical stupid corporation.

19. I wondered about that...
...neither of the NBC affiliates we get (Boston and Providence) had it on. But it was listed as being on everywhere -- TV Guide, the on-screen guide, even that morning's paper.

It is nowhere near as good as it was when Sorkin was there. It's plodding and boring lately. And doesn't focus on politics so much anymore. Argh.
