Help! I'm trying to remember the name of a REALLY BAD '80S BAND!
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 07:58 PM by Kathy in Cambridge
I was getting my nails done today, and they had a Vietnamese satellite channel on in the background. There were these two guys with teased mullets-one was singing in a high-pitched voice, and the other was playing synthesizer. One of the songs had 'Atlantis' in the title. It was torture listening to the song, but it's more torture now that I can't think of the name of the band!!!

On edit: it was kind of ambient, soft-rock music.

HELP! PLEASE!

16. Donavan did a song called Atlantis, but....
...That was in 1968, and there weren't any synthesizers or bad mullets involved. Paul McCartney played guitar on it though.

11. WHICH ONE???
So many of them to choose from! That's kinda like saying, "What's the name of that early '90s grunge band again? You know, the one from Seattle?"

14. Here's the song.......
ATLANTIS
By Donovan

The continent of Atlantis was an island
which lay before the great flood
in the area we now call the Atlantic Ocean.
So great an area of land, that from her western shores
those beautiful sailors journeyed
to the South and the North Americas with ease,
in their ships with painted sails.

To the East Africa was a neighbour, across a short strait of sea miles.
The great Egyptian age is but a remnant of The Atlantian culture.
The antediluvian kings colonised the world
All the Gods who play in the mythological dramas
In all legends from all lands were from fair Atlantis.
Knowing her fate, Atlantis sent out ships to all corners of the Earth.
On board were the Twelve:
The poet, the physician, the farmer, the scientist,
The magician and the other so-called Gods of our legends.
Though Gods they were -
And as the elders of our time choose to remain blind
Let us rejoice and let us sing and dance and ring in the new
Hail Atlantis!
Way down below the ocean where I wanna be she may be,
Way down below the ocean where I wanna be she may be,
Way down below the ocean where I wanna be she may be.
Way down below the ocean where I wanna be she may be,
Way down below the ocean where I wanna be she may be.
My antediluvian baby, oh yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah,
I wanna see you some day
My antediluvian baby, oh yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah,
My antediluvian baby,
My antediluvian baby, I love you, girl,
Girl, I wanna see you some day.
My antediluvian baby, oh yeah
I wanna see you some day, oh
My antediluvian baby.
My antediluvian baby, I wanna see you
My antediluvian baby, gotta tell me where she gone
I wanna see you some day
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, oh yeah
Oh glub glub, down down, yeah
My antediluvian baby, oh yeah yeah yeah yeah

33. I googled it and came up with
a couple of guys called Modern Talking that did a song called Atlantis is Calling(SOS for Love):

Lady, I know it was hard
But it's much harder to ignore
There's a chance and I'll promise
I won't hurt you anymore
Hollywood nights we're romancin'
You can trust me anytime
Somewhere, oh, babe, there is someone
Oh, you're dancing in my mind

Ohoho, little queenie
I'm your fool
Come on, teach me the rules
And I will send a S.O.S. for love
Ohoho, little queenie,
I'm your fool
You need love, like I do
And I will send a S.O.S. for love

Atlantis is calling, S.O.S. for love
Atlantis is calling, from the stars above
Atlantis is calling, S.O.S. for love
Atlantis is calling, it's too hot to stop

If loving you is wrong, babe
Oh, I don't wanna be right
I've got you under my skin, babe
And baby, hold me tight
I'm ready for our romance
I wait a million years for you
I love you more than I'm saying
Baby, that's for me the truth
