I actually took the photo after a rather extreme hair cutting session. Had about 6 inches cut off, colored it, etc., was trying to show it off to friends, hence the weird angle. ;)

Start with the kind that washes out...
and never, ever color it yourself! Ok, horror story time...I once tried to color my hair auburn, which I didn't think was a huge stretch...anyway, it ended up burgundy. Think: Sharon Osbourne. It was awful! I had to get the color stripped and then re-color. Very expensive mistake. And I had to wear a baseball cap for over 24 hours.

For this style, I actually found a pic in a magazine, took that to my hair stylist and she did an absolutely fabulous job of re-creating the pic.

I'm not really a Rangers fan; they're just one of the teams near me. I'm really a Cardinals fan. But, if I want to see major league baseball, I have to drive to Arlington or Houston.

167. Nolan Ryan at the end of his career. Kenny Rogers is a good pitcher.
He's been a Ranger on and off for years. I actually saw Rogers pitch against Clemens when the latter was with the Red Sox. Predictably, Clemens hit someone and damn near started a brawl.

Hitting batters. Well. As a :::cough::: almost Cubs fan, I must plead the 5th. :)

THAT being said, I applaud when pitchers (primarily CUBS pitchers, but also BRAVES pitchers) refuse to cow to the not-so-great Barry Bonds and knock him off the plate. My view is that if he'd played when Josh Gibson was pitching ... (well, and of course, pre-steroids) ... he'd be just another really good player. Argh.

293. Yes, one is
a Charvel (the blue one) and the other is a Charvette (made by Charvel). I never could afford a Jackson, but after trying out the blue charvel, I didn't care any more. I was hooked. They've actually started back making Charvels now you know. Check this link out:

I had to wipe drool off my monitor after seeing that they started back making the "classic" Charvels.

316. I've kinda got a thing for Charvels made in Japan although
most people put them down. They were great guitars. Like I said I have the one Charvel and the one Charvette (both Japanese). They didn't make the Charvettes for very long, I think like 2 years, but they were good guitars too. I'd love to be able to afford one of the new San Dimas Charvels with 2 humbuckers, but may have to wait. I don't know when I'll be able to afford one, but they look great, very much like the old ones. As much as I loved the music in the 90's, the guitars made then didn't do it for me. I've got this kick for wanting a Floyd Rose with locking nut, I only want one knob for volume (My mesa gives me the tone) and I hate pickguards. I'm quirky that way when it comes to guitars. I want a new Charvel so bad.

311. I think people who grew up in the south love snow
not just because it is such a novelty but also since it usually meant they didn't have to go to school so we associate it with fun and all day play. I imagine it means something else to those who grew up in the north like getting up early to shovel the sidewalk THEN going to school.

314. Yep -- well, SOME of us northerners love snow too
... just not in late march :).

I grew up in Western PA, and always loved snow. I missed it (well -- and all the seasons except for summer) for the 8 years I lived in Texas, and the 8 years I lived in DC (they don't have snow often (except this year) -- they have ICE. ugh). Now I'm in Chicago, and I love the snow - except in Late March, when I'm ready for some Spring!!!

Early congrats on the great 4-0. It's awesome - it really is !

I'm sure at some point, I'll not like turning ... more experientially gifted - :) - but so far, I'm still like a kid. I keep thinking, I'll be "grown up" now ... HA ... maybe SOME DAY. Maybe, say, when I turn 70.

Having low post count is good, I get a lot of welcomes every time I post. People here are really nice.

My hair looks really terrible, though. I have been cursed with curly hair, and it always looks like this after shower until I finally decide to do something about it.

The part of Turkey I'm living (Istanbul) is pretty much European, though there are parts of my country still living in the Ottoman Empire times, mainly in the Kurdish southeast. Turkey is always full of bitter contradictions.

381. No, I eat really well
jog, and all that. It's been about a month since I last jogged because I had a bout with bronchitis. I had thyroid cancer a little over a year ago so that probably has something to do about the slow down even though I am taking synthetic hormone replacement. Nothing is as good as the original.

391. I understand. My husband had hyperthyroidism
brought on by Graves Disease, and he had his thyroid zapped a little over five years ago. He's been on Synthroid ever since, and he put on quite a bit of weight while they tinkered with his dose. Very rigorous exercise sends him into "panic attacks" (for lack of a better term), and so he really has to keep his exercise moderate.

I know it's frustrating for him.

412. I'm in the same boat
except I have no thyroid now. I'm also on Synthroid. My blood levels are in the good range but it obviously isn't what my metabolism was used too beforehand. I have discussed this with my doctor and he said that the levels that they aim for are general so if my metabolism was high before, which it was, it has slow down as what is considered good for the doctors is slow to my body. To put it plainly, it sucks. I now need naps. I never, ever took naps during the day, except in college and that was because I didn't go to sleep until 3:00 or 4:00 in the a.m.

Oh well, c'est la vie.
