Poll question: What's a worse abomination?
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 10:52 PM by HypnoToad

Oh, anyone who says that two men going at it like bunnies high on LSD MUST RESPOND in order to be counted. Otherwise all "men" votes will be given over the the "environment/killing each other" category.

1. Dear, Dear HypnoToad
messing up the environment really IS an abomination. Good for the guys in selection number one, just as long as they don't become LSD addicts like Bill Frist.

3. omg. I never saw the rw-christians' hypocrisy on the environment
God Loves Nature. Hell, God loves ANWR. He made it.
True Christians would respect God's work.

Bush does not respect God's creation.

You cannot support God and Bush at the same time.

Tell this to a fundie, and watch him/her implode.

4. Precisely. God spent 6 days creating Everything. And that's God.
Humankind hasn't even begun to be a thousand millionth as advanced...

The effects of humankind's rape of the world is readily seen:

* Ozone hole
* melting polar ice caps
* decimated rain forests
* air pollution
* Arsenic and other crap in water
* mercury in fish
* MAD COW DISEASE (brought about by humankind's brilliant idea of feeding cattle TO cattle)
* genetically modified foods (some of which are probably better, but I'd recently shown an article about hormones in milk. Google "milk pus hormones" and read it all about it, yuck. Nevermind that those cattle get turned into food for other cattle or, indeed, ourselves.)

Hell, we don't know the long term of effects of pumping up oil;

These issues and more were somewhat addressed ~35 years ago. Utterly ignored, things are getting far, far worse. There is an imbalance.

Fortunately, peak oil and our abomination of an "economic" structure will be humankind's Waterloo. Maybe we should all thank God; for our own inequities toward each other induced by our "economic" structure helped create the mess.

5. Actually, I think there is a fundie movement
that is environmentalist based precisely on your line of reasoning. The trouble is that they are still extremely conservative otherwise and they do not want to use the word "environmentalist" for fear of being lumped with the left. I forget the word they wanted to refer to themselves by though. It was a religious term though.
