The boutique I work at was robbed today.
Two thugs came in, and I sort of knew something was up, because two thugs don't really spend time in a women's jewelry store. I was alone and the came in and demanded money and I gave it to them. I don't even think I was scared until after they left. I had to give statements to the security and police, as well as explain to my boss. The camera was not working, so hopefully the outside ones caught the robbery. I pressed the security button, but they didn't come in time to catch them.

I need a drink.

6. Mall security workers are a joke... that or they need to be paid proper.
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 10:58 PM by HypnoToad
Several years ago I worked for a company. Let's call them "Wadio Crap". The mall had security. I did the 'call them pronto' routine too.

Never showed.

Definitely glad you're OK!

11. Bless you
I got robbed at knife point while working at a 7-11 a long time ago and it was totally upsetting. Fortunately, the guys were caught, I went to court as a witness and NAILED the bastards.

18. Take care of yourself in the next couple of weeks...
Edited on Sat Mar-26-05 11:34 PM by mcscajun
'cause it wouldn't be out of the ordinary for you to be a bit jumpier than normal, trouble with sleeping, easily startled, etc. In short, a minor case of PTSD. It'll pass, though.

I was in a bank branch holdup where I worked a whole lotta years ago, and I can remember looking over my shoulder a lot for days and days afterwards.

20. I am fine.
I have an anxiety disorder, but oddly enough it has not triggered any extra anxiety yet. I will be vigilant though.

People from management will probably call tomorrow. I am looking for another job, and maybe this is a sign I need to move on.

Thanks for all of the support!!

21. I'm glad you're OK, too. Perhaps practicing some deep-breathing
exercises will help a bit. How scary for you.
