2. Well, were you making any money, joining the Bush Rangers & Pioneers?

I had no idea and had to google. :-)

"Rangers are an elite class of fundraisers created for the 2004 election cycle who have bundled at least $200,000 for the Bush campaign. Pioneers are those who have pledged to gather $100,000. For the 2004 campaign, there are 221 Rangers and 327 Pioneers, so far. In the 2000 campaign, 550 fundraisers signed up to be Pioneers, and at least 241 of them reached their goal. Use this search engine to find information about Rangers and Pioneers, which is presented in cooperation with Texans for Public Justice."

3. He's an odd man

Real republican type, apparently, but yet on the board of MMOA (which isn't necessarily liberal, but come on...it's still a *real* art museum), and PBS. He's also, and the biography you linked to didn't mention this, one of the chief financial contributors (if not THE chief one) to Yo Yo Ma's Silk Road Project, a decidedly multi-cultural non-freeperish kind of thing. At Yo Yo Ma's kick off concert at COlumbia a couple years ago, Henry was right there in the front row with a special nod to him in the bulletin.

I have a distinct feeling he's a purely financial pro-business republican, and not a religious, xenophobic, or cultural/social republican at all.

and as a p.s., I've been in the KKR offices a few times. GORGEOUS! HOLY SHIT!
