Yes, DJs, I know Neil Young was from Toronto. You've made that abundantly clear. Here's a sample of their lineup that's only a little exaggerated:

"Coming up next on the mighty Q we've got Neil Young, Neil Young, Crosby Stills Nash and Young, Neil Young, Buffalo Springfield, a whole side of 'After the Gold Rush' by Neil Young, followed by a one hour special on the stories behind the music of Neil Young".

Enough already. Plus every time someone from the classic rock era releases new material, that's all they play. Since thursday they've been stuck on Ozzy Osbourne's new 4-CD set.

I complain about Colorado Springs sometimes, but damn does that town have two sold classic rock stations. 103.9 The Eagle with 103 minute commercial free marathons 3 times a day and 98.1 KKFM with 98 minute classic rock blocks. Back when we had 96.1 KMOM "The Mother" with 96 minute "mother loads" it was practically nonstop commercial free classic rock. Now I'm stuck with the Neil Young propaganda broadcast network. *Sigh*.

1. If you want true classic rock
forget the radio altogether and go to the internet. I listen to radio io 70's and they play stuff I've not heard in years, they'll go deep into an album and play songs from there, not the ones we've all heard thousands of times before.
Besides which there aren't commercial interuptions, where I live there are two classic rock stations, after twenty minutes of commercials they compete to see who can play more foreigner, boston, journey, bad company, and steve miller.
Now, these were great bands when I was young, but, I've heard it.

2. Canadian Radio stations..
..are required by law to play a certain perectage of music by Canadian artists. Canadian Oldies stations are a treat. Who knew The Five Man Electrical Band had more than one song?

but they do a good mix of rock, not just classic rock.

I just wish it came in clearly more often over here on the other side of the lake.
