rainy afternoon CATS....
Edited on Sun Mar-27-05 04:37 PM by mike_c
There are five-- count 'em, five-- cats sprawled on my bed. It's a blustery, rainy afternoon so they'd rather be here than outside. Note too that there is no room for ME in that bed, then imagine how EVERY FREAKING NIGHT is spent around here. :)

OK, I hit post by accident. Here are the cats:

Another angle:

And finally, Marble the unsociable:

3. what pretty kitties!
Marble looks like my Kali, also a long haired calico. I think they are all down at the old delapitated cabin hanging out.

cat chatter thing, because the bird feeder has a bunch of little yellow fellows and their mates chowing down out there in the backyard.

Try to sleep in a bed with cats all over it? I don't have the heart to push them off even though they constrict my legs; their purring is a soothing sound to fall to sleep to.

6. Wow! Great picture They sure look content. Marble is the perfect name
for Marble!!!
I just had to post this. If you think you have a problem sleeping on your bed, can you imagine my friend's problem? She has the Mommy and the 4 daughters to take care of. After the Mom had the litter she could not bear to part with any of the pups.

8. That's a whole lotta pussies!
nope, no room for you there, lol!

I have the same problem, but I only have three!

They're on the guest bed there. Oberon is so large now that he can span the entire width of a queen sized bed!

13. No, sadly
Peewee never knew Oberon. Obie was acquired as a companion for Miro (the tuxedo shorthair) who seemed nearly as distraught as I was over the loss of Peewee in 2003. He and Miro are great friends now:

That's Miro beside him in the other post, with Puck at the top of the lineup (she's my only "normal" sized cat, at 9 pounds).

I took this photo of Oberon this morning, right after I had gotten out of bed. He sleeps in this same spot and same position every night, which his back feet braced against me to make sure that I don't move from my 1/5 of the bed!

Like all of us, he looks badly mussed in the mornings, before he's had his "bath":

18. I think I've told you this before, but your cat photos...
...are outstanding. Hah-- I can totally relate to being relegated to second class status on the bed. Mine all do the minimum personal cat space thing, which leads them to distribute themselves evenly around the bed, and I get to sleep like a pretzel under a weighted blanket. The only constraint is that Grendel (siamese) and Marble (calico) don't usually sleep on the bed at the same time-- they're both rescues and somewhat unsociable with other cats.

19. Thanks!
Hey, at least you don't need an electric blanket, right? I don't know about you, but I find it hard to sleep without a furry critter next to me. :-)

BTW- do you have another kitty named Beowulf? ;-)

15. The one by the pillows looks dead
perhaps you better check on him/her

The other one at the top is up to no good. Look at the way he/she is glaring at you

17. the "dead" one is Maxwell, a bed lump if ever there was one....
He's a very large kitty. The one glaring is Grendel, Maxwell's mother. Grendel has a unique personality-- she's one of those schizoid cats who never seemed to learn the difference between love and bloodshed. She's a rescue who has actually socialized much better than I originally expected. She's an utter sweet pea, and I have the scars to prove it.

16. Having just shaved one of my cats
I have given up a down pillow and a chair and have the heater pointed at the chair. The other two are (where else?) on the bed.
