My personal truce to Yankee Fans
Not that anyone has to accept it. I am just saying that I myself am not much of a bragger. I am just so proud of my team to force a game 7. If we win, laughing at Yankee Fans is the last possible thing on my "to-do list". I will just be grateful that we get a chance in the World Series, and grateful that we finally got at least one big win over the Yankees. A Sox win tonight would put the tally at something like Yankees 1,276 Red Sox 20 as far as things worth bragging about to Yankee Fans. So if we win, taunting Yankee Fans seems useless. You guys have won enough anyways. Count me out of any post-game smak. Just grateful to be able to see a game like this in my lifetime.

1. I have no beef with Sox fans . . .
in fact, some of my best friends . . . well, you know . . . as for tonight's game, it could go either way and, while I'm pulling for the Yankees, it won't kill me if the Sox go to the Series . . . those friends of mine deserve a smile before they die . . . should be a great game . . .

2. All I want is a good game
Edited on Thu Oct-16-03 10:45 AM by Radical__Moderate
I too pledge not to brag in front of any Yankee's fan. I will feel for them the same sorrow as I did for the Cub's Fans last night if they lose.I will rejoice if the Redsox win, but not at the expense of any Yankees fans.
The Yanks are a fine team and their Fans should be proud of them regardless if they win or lose. I am glad its going into the 7th game, and we get to see 2 wonderful teams play for the chance to move on.
I hope I am not considered Arrogant for thinking the 2 teams are equals.
To all you Yankees Fans Out there- Salute and let the best team win.

3. How very classy of you...
This game will be epic, and I don't expect neither Pedro or Rocket (especially Rocket) to go out like a punk.

It's probably a good thing not to talk smack about the Yanks, because the Curse of the Babe doesn't end at the ALCS.

4. It is not wise for either side to talk smack

Seventh game. Two of the best pitchers ever to stand on a mound. Winner take all in a match where the teams are demonstrably comparable. The Yankees have history, a winning tradition and home-field advantage. The Sox have a better bullpen, bigger bats on average, and a scrappy attitude that has led them to rise up four times now when facing elimination.

Bragging would be stupid until the game is over.

5. you are right, my good man...
I think the tragedy last night(along with the zillion other things) has taken away that nasy edge I may have had earlier in the series.

It has been a great back and forth between the teams and the fans. Good luck.
