Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry, Be Happy" does not make me happy
I was in Tower Records yesterday and saw THIS...excellent retro cover by Shag (or someone with no shame who's ripping off Shag's style):

...now, as much as I'm reluctant to admit it, I like SOME "smooth jazz."

I like a lot of different styles of music. I flipped this one over and saw Bobby McFerrin's "Don't Worry, Be Happy"...it just makes me wanna get in a bar fight or something, I dunno. What a crap song.

There's a second McFerrin track on the CD, "Medicine Man"...I've never heard it, but how much friggin' WORSE can it be than "Don't Worry, Be Happy?"

The sumbitch even has an OFFICIAL WEB SITE...

http://www.bobbymcferrin.com/

If I weren't convinced that George W. Bush is the AntiChrist, I MIGHT think that it could be McFerrin...

2. Flashbacks from '88?
I remember that song was the sort of official un-official campaign song for G.H.W. Bush when he ran for Prez in '88! I remember reading that they would play that at his campaign rallies. Which seemed quite appropriate, especially in the kind of loopy WASP whimsicality of the Connecticut-bred father, kinda like the father in "The Critic".

3. To quote Chuck D.
"Don't Worry Be Happy was a number one jam, DAMN if I say it you can smack me right here."
