Any graduates of McGill University?
My daughter's thinking of going there. Any opinions?

1. I had a friend long ago who went there -
he liked it. That's in Toronto, right? Great city. Don't really know much about their academic reputation.

2. My (American) nephew went there...
It's as good a university as any in North America and is located in a very interesting part of Montreal (a classy city overall); he and his roomies lived around the corenr from Leonard Cohen.

I think the student body's quite cosmopolitan--a lot of foreign students along with the predominant Canadians. Plus the location more or less forces you to learn at least some French.

Even with travel, housing, etc., etc., my brother saved several grand over what a US university would have cost.

She's gong to visit the University later this week. I think one of the reasons she wants to go there is because Montreal is such a great city!

We hate McGill.

But it is one of the best universities in Canada. If she can get in she will get an outstanding education.
