Poll question: Poll: Who should throw out the first ball at (gag) Pro Player next week?
The Florida Marlins need your help! This miserable excuse for a franchise has never won a division title in its "history" (dating all the way back to the Clinton Administration!), yet managed to sleaze into what was once the "Fall Classic" thanks to the biggest choke job since mustard gas was used in World War I.

Here's their dilemma. They're so wet behind the ears they think that the "seventh inning stretch" means you actually have to get up and stretch. Thus, they haven't a clue who should throw out the first ball before the Red Sox or Yankees go up 3-0 next week.

Not to worry, though: there sure are a lot of prominent Floridians to choose from! Take your pick...

Just to hear the Marlins fans boo - loudly! :D

Seriously? Edgar Renteria and Craig Counsell. I know they're both still active players, but Edgar's winning hit and Craig's winning run from 1997 ought to stir some memories, eh?

although Cubbies fans should not use this as an excuse. They've had multiple opportunities to win this thing.

Word in Wrigleyville has it that Jeb is offering him tickets to the Marlins games when he relocates to Florida. I hope he dosen't mind manacles when the Marlins are on the field.

It fits like a glove. A catcher's glove.

Go Red Sox.

9. Bring out Charlie Hough
The first man to throw a pitch for the Florida Marlins. Sure, he never threw hard, but was an effective pitcher.

10. How about Orlando Bosch?
He's the terrorist who blew up the Cuban civilian airliner and was pardoned by Bush Sr and I'm sure he's still a big Republican booster.
