Poll question: Would you use a home video transfer service?

I'm researching the possibility of starting a video transfer business. In almost every house, there are stacks of old photos, film, and VHS tapes that need to be transfered to disc. Weddings, birthdays, family get-togethers, sporting events.....the list is endless.

What are your thoughts? Has anyone used a service like this?

1. 8mm home movies

Got a dozen reels or so, would be nice to get them in a viewable form again (I don't have a projector anymore).

2. Not me but maybe others.

I've got the ability to do the same. But a slew of tech-novices might buy into the idea. It seems like it could have legs. Perhaps you can open it up as a sideline first and see if it takes off.

3. I'd start small. As you say, a sideline.

I could run it from my basement. I wouldn't even have to limit it to my general locale. Some of the business could be done via mail.
