I'm having a really bad day.
I have been all excited this week because my period has been late. I took a test today and it was a big fat negative. I cried my eyes out for a long time, but cuddling my ferrets made me feel a little better. I also think I'm coming down sick. Sorry, I just had to wallow in self-pity for a little bit.

5. How early in pregnancy
can those tests give an accurate reading?

Maybe you just need to wait a couple of days?

6. No, this is cycle day 39, with ovulation almost three weeks ago.
It should have shown up by now. I have very irregular cycles, but the shitty thing is, we can't afford any fertility diagnostic procedures and insurance won't cover it. We can afford to have a baby, we just can't afford to make one.

10. Has your doctor suggested anything
to regulate your cycle?

I was in the same boat for years. Tried to have a second, but nothing happened. Then I went on a health-kick. I started walking every day and stuck with a mostly-vegetarian diet. I lost about 80 lbs and got so healthy that I got pregnant.

I didn't follow any specific diet-excercise regimen other than the one my body seemed to tell me I wanted.

Good luck!

12. I do need to lose a lot of weight. That could be one factor.
My doctor hasn't said anything, but I probably couldn't afford it anyway. I don't think my insurance will cover any kind of medication to regulate it. They told me I have to have an X-ray of my head because they think I might have a tumor on my pituitary that is making my prolactin levels high. They want to do a procedure to see if my tubes are blocked, again-can't afford it. I'm seriously getting depressed.

14. Natural progesterone cream
might help. Check out the books by Dr. John Lee on estrogen dominance and how it affects fertility, irregular periods, etc.

I've been using the cream for 8 months now and it has completely eliminated 2 uterine fibroids and my cycle is more regular than it's been in 20 years.

I was infertile for 10 years after the birth of my first child. My health insurance partially covered infertility treatments and we were able to have a 2nd child 6 years ago. But, after reading the Dr. Lee book, "What your doctor may not tell you about pre-menopause," I wish I had tried the progesterone cream first.

You're probably a lot younger than me, but there are definitely sections in the book about infertility. Good luck.

11. Yeah. I can definately say he is having a worse time
than I am. I live here in Chicago Cubs country (NOT a Cubs fan myself), and that is all anyone can talk about. He is probably the most hated person in Illinois right now.

13. Sorry to hear that Scarlet Owl
we just went through something similar here at McLargehuge Estates. We took a few weeks to regroup, and decided to press on.

Good luck! Remember, OBGYNs can give good fertility advice. I don't know if you have a kid or kids already, but Mrs. McLargehuge and I made Little McLargehuge, the OBGYN was extremely helpful with regard to fertility, time, and options.

Hope things improve

16. Oh, I'm so sorry.
I wish I could loan you my fertility since I don't think I'll be needing it anymore.
If you didn't get your period yet, it's possible that the HcG levels aren't high enough to register. That happened to me once.
Hang in there and big hugs. I hope things happen very soon for you!

17. Just keep doin' it!
Years ago, my wife declared us officially "child free". Fast-forward to today: Now I have to worry about keeping 2 teen-aged sons away from the chimp/beast's war machine.
