I am REALLY pissed off
And up until now, I was having a good day, until my brother comes back from running errands with my car and informs me that my transmission is going all wonky again a year after I had to get it fixed. Barely pushing the gas pedal makes it rev really high and it won't kick up into a higher gear. Last time it happened was on the way back from Minneapolis, and it took several months and about 2 grand to fix, so I am incredibly pissed off. It was fine when I went to work this morning, and fine on the way home, and now all of a sudden my car reeks of coolant and it's revving up like crazy again. I just got my oil changed and had a complete check-up yesterday, so I'm thinking maybe Jiffy Lube did something to fuck it up, but I don't know, and it's really freaking me out because I was supposed to go to Omaha in two weeks for a concert and I'll be really pissed off if I miss it.

This sucks.

2. Well, come have a martini with me.
My day was pretty sucky too. Sorry about your car - we pay so much for them, they shouldn't be able to break down!

4. Sorry to hear that--I'm listening to Clay Aiken's CD
Do you think if I lent that to you, you would feel better?

5. have your transmission fluid flushed.
how many miles did you put on your car in the last year? if its over 20,000 then you need to flush and change your transmission fluid.

there is a pretty good chance that this will fix your problem - it should run you only about $100.

sometimes gunk can collect in the trap near the differential gear, and will cause it to do "hard shifts". flushing the transmission fluid should take care of that.

also - WTF are you doing going to jiffy lube? find a small, local, trustworth garage, and then take all your car needs to them. ask friends and relatives who they use.

8. Car problems are such a pain!
The first seven years I lived in the Washington DC area I did without a car, and loved it. Next place I move to will again have good public transportation.

Hope your trouble gets fixed soon.

10. Did they guarantee the work the last time you had it done?
The garage should have given you a warranty of the transmission work for so many miles and they will have to fix what is wrong with your car for free.
