5. Simply put
Love is when the happiness of the "other" is essential to your own happiness. :loveya:
I feel that way about my children, I have rarely felt it toward anyone else, I have never had anyone feel that way about me. But I keep looking!

6. Love is blind.
Love is never having to say you're sorry. Love is picking your nose in front of someone, then kissing them. Love is being unable to eat and being happy about it. Love is being confused and obsessed. Love is madness. Love is hate. Love is god.

11. Love is a place...
within your being, each place holds a different grasp to those you cherish. Hence the variations of love and when one we love has gone, there will always be a void in that place.

36. Oh, doubt is the unfortunate side effect of
your love for someone. It's opposing polarities; you feel so wonderful in their presence but yet feel so empty when not with them, the emptiness amplifies the doubt, "Do they feel the same?"

18. "What's This Shit Called Love"
by the Pagans (Cleveland, circa 1978):

I saw it in books, I read it on T.V.
It don't mean nothing to me.
Little girl, I got a question.
Come on, babe, teach me a lesson!

What's this shit called love?
Well, I don't know!
What's this shit called love?

I don't know, and baby, I don't care.
Ain't got nothing that I want to share.
Looking at you, I guess that I feel something.
Anything, it would be better than nothing.

What's this shit called love?
I don't know.
What's this shit called love?

Somebody help me, please!

44. no, not really
reconnected on line with my old flame, the one I could never forget. Ya, mostly on line instant messaging due to circumstances and we are maybe 100 miles apart, but we do have a history and get together every coupla months for a lunch or something. Been going on for almost 2 years, she is my best friend and confidante and I am hers. No hanky panky but, oh, how I dream.........

38. ahhh ... I see
well then, you have to decide if what you feel for this new person is worth risking and losing everything you have with your current partner. Never easy. I left my husband for another man. It was the best thing that I ever did even though the relationship I went to did not work out in the end. I was miserable with my husband and the new person just gave me the push I needed to get out of a very bad situation.
Does that help any? (I told you I had sage advice.)

29. It's the love a man has for a fine Cuban cigar...
Edited on Thu Oct-16-03 08:25 PM by northwest
...or a pair of freshly washed and dried cotton boxers, or the smell of sausages and pretzels roasting when entering your favourite football team's stadium an hour before kickoff...

Oh wait, that's what I love. (sans the cigar):-)

31. I am 44...
and it took me many years to find it
I will put it in a very crude way...
Love is when you are sexually attracted to your best friend...
And can live together and make it work...
and absense makes the heart ache
and souls connect

I know it sounds corny...
but when it happens it will feel so natural and right

40. This is an awesome description
I would say the exact same thing.

My husband though says it's caring about your partner more than yourself which is in of itself, our inherent problem sometimes. I want to share together and in his view I can't give enough to prove my love or perhaps need enough to prove my need for him to love me.

I don't know why I'm writing this stuff. Geesh.

I guess love is hard sometimes.

I did not pursue hard enough once, now at 49 I WILL NOT make the same mistake now that I have been given a second chance. When you look back on your life, it is always the things you did not do that are the regrets.
