My parents rock!

My sister and brother in law from the left coast are out visiting for the first time in a couple of years so we all went out to dinner. Eventually the conversation turned to politics and bush.

Now neither of my parents can in anyway be described as liberal, in fact pops is a life long pub, but neither he nor my mother have any use for bush. My sister and and brother in law on the other hand are fundies with freeper tendancies. I was kind of hoping that politics wouldn't come up because I haven't seen my sister in a long time and though I have no use for their political or religious views, I genuinely like them both and didn't want to spoil the evening with an arguement.

Both my parents however, bless their hearts, made it clear that bush is a dangerous idiot, who has no idea what he is doing. They said it a little more politely than that though.

Fortunately my brother in law had the presence of mind to hold his tounge and the conversation soon turned to other, safer topics.

I had hoped to engage my brother in law in private conversation about why he supported bush but unfortunately did not have the opportunity.

That's it. I just wanted to give my folks some props.
