Does anyone else find it just . . . I don't know . . . odd I guess, that two men (Reagan and the Pope) who had assasination attempts against them within a year of each other also died of natural causes within a year of each other?

Not that it means anything, it just struck me as odd.

13. I can't be mean about this. My condolences to my Catholic friends.

I have had my differences with this Pope. But I'm not going to be mean or cruel about his death. He did some good things...he opposed the war in Iraq, opposed the death penalty, helped usher in democracy in Poland. In some ways, he was a good man.

To my friends who are Catholic...I know you're sad right now. You have my sincere condolences upon his death.

I have differences with the Pope too . But in the end we are all human and to see someone in their final moments in so much pain breaks my heart . I say a prayer for his soul and for all his followers .

because there hasn't been an official announcement.

He may or may not already be dead, but it's all speculation until Cardinal Ruini makes the official announcement.

Last I heard, he was leading a mass at St. John Lateran, near the Vatican.
