Although Scott Savol, one of the nine remaining finalists on Fox's "American Idol," was once arrested for felony domestic violence, the arrest won't cost Savol his shot at becoming an "Idol."
According to Ohio police documents obtained by the Smoking Gun Web site Thursday, the 28-year-old had a confrontation with his son's mother, Michelle Martin, in 2001.
According to the police report, the couple decided to separate, but when Savol arrived at her mother's home, where the couple lived, to collect his belongings, he called Martin "several vulgar names" and pulled the engagement ring off her finger, saying that "he was also going to take their son." When Martin threatened to call 911, Savol shoved her, threw the phone at her, striking her in the chest and breaking the phone.
