I have a feeling if the Pope dies, we're all politically fucked in the US

While the media are having their hayday, and everyone's attention is nicely distracted, and all news 24/7 will be about the Pope and then the voting process for the new Pope and then the voting itself for the new Pope, our assholes in government will silently and slikly pass bill after bill reducing our rights and taking away our freedoms and move us closer and closer to the fascist religious fundamentalist shithole they want.

Plus they haven't had to deal with sanctions. The U.S. would get bitch-slapped if they set off that powder keg.
