same as if you are coming here looking for attention , you are in the right place . Just because someone does not respond to your post , that does not mean that no one has an opinion . There are thousands of posts that are posted daily on the Democratic Underground , and I bet not all of them get a response . Hang in there :)

It makes me wonder if I have anything to contribute or not. Also, makes me feel like I'm not as intelligent as I think I am. Who knows.

Sometimes there's just nothing to say, don't take it personally. More posts here get none-to-few replies than one that get piled on. It happens to everyone. It's really not personal.

I think it's because it's Friday night, and the Elections over.

I think traffic has dropped off since the Nov-Jan spike. We all got spoiled.

And I think you have to say something really stupid or ask a dumb question to get a bunch of responses. :shrug:

It's not that I take it as a personal snub from everyone, it's just the point that I have been here since the election of 2000; however, on my profile it says I've only been here since I 2003 or something. I may have started contributing then, I'm not sure. Anyway, it's now 2005 and barely any replies to anything I have posted? That could be a new record.

UPDATE: I have proved my point already. Of all the posts I have contributed to this post so far in the last 15 minutes or so, not one person has responded to me. Now I'M depressed n2mark. :nopity:

You should write to the the admins in "Ask the Admins" and see if they could fix it, I bet they can.

I have had someone to flame me, but once it started, I just ignored it. No big thing.

It really does kind of seem disconcerting to take the time to read things, come on here to share with fellow Liberals, and then no one ever reads what you have posted.

I'm with you n2mark. I'm a contributing member too. It's not against DU themselves; however, I've started on Randi's board. I'm going to see if anyone is interested in what I have to say over there.

But seriously! Anyone else out there with opinions that are constantly being ignored. IM me and we'll set up our own little discussions in the Lounge sometime.

(now, no one will probably read this). Like my own BB listed below, not one person has ever visited. How long does it take for a board to get started. I know some will only be online for a year and their not taking anymore members. I know it has a lot to do with the meta tags as well as advertising. I cannot afford to be put in all of the search engines. I was just wanting to see what could happen. It was a lot of work though.

It's been like a ghost town around here today and last night was the same way. I'm here. I might be on your ignore list though. I know I've probably made a few people lately.

I never put anyone on my ignore list. But, there were a few times I checked, there were people on my ignore list. I don't know how they got there, I would not do this, took them off immediately. No way!

There are a number of reasons people post or respond. The most lively threads contain strong points of contention. Disagreement breeds discussion.

But sometimes a person makes a statement that everyone agrees with. Depending on how critical the issue is and how well verse it may be it may get some acknowledgement or agreement. But no where near the level a divisive thread would get. Its ironic but that is the nature of such discussions.

If you have a point to make put it out there. If you believe in it and it gets no responses give it a kick yourself. If there are still no responses then you have to presume that people don't know how to respond to the issue or you need to find a better way to present it.

Arizona dicking with the radio. Keep posting. Run the edge of the radar and see how long you stay up.

Sometimes your thread titles are vague. You post something like "I can't believe" or "It's happening again"... and I suspect few people click on the thread to see what it's all about.

You are a very valuable member here, n2mark, you just have to punch up the "headline" a little more to let people know what the thread is about.

people who don't know jack will be glad to share their opinions on most any topic and will completely ignore the knowledgeable thing. Sometimes you'll get lucky and someone who actually knows something will chime in.

And believe me, I feel the same way you do about posting. Keep posting - someone out there pays attention! :hi:

I come here to read, learn, respond if I feel strongly about something, or have something to say. More often than not, no one responds to me. I don't think it's a popularity contest. There are so many threads, they move so fast - I usually only have time to check out the newest. I read a LOT more than I post, and I'm not usually looking for responses. Anyway, most of us are "preaching to the choir".

Personally, I don't care if anyone responds or not. I get to vent, and I get to learn. That's really what I'm here for the most.

I have noticed that if you post something in the morning the board goes so fast it is like on the 10th page by the afternoon.
That is why there is so much triple and quadruple posting of the same news headline.
