Are You Watching HBO's "Carnivale"?? -=-=-= MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS
Edited on Fri Oct-17-03 11:35 AM by arwalden
If there was a separate award that was given for "Best Opening Credits", then HBO's new series "Carnivale" would definitely be the winner!

Not only is the music haunting and captivating, the zoom-in and fly-by three-dimensional tarot cards---blended with old depression-era photos and newsreel footage---is beautifully done. It's eye-catching and memorable and quite clever!!

P.S. By the way, the story line really has me intrigued as well. Several different story lines are keeping me very interested all the way through each episode.

Have you noticed the COSTUMES?? Wow! Very well done! It's the little things that help to bring it all together. And the authentic look of the costumes really help make it all more believable.

2. If you're getting digital cable
You might have HBO On-Demand and can pick them up there for free.

If not, HBO will probably rerun the entire season sometime after they finish the season.

3. With The Production Values They Have Invested In It, It Will Be On DVD...
... within 9 months. This isn't some throw-away low-budget replacement series... they've obviously made a deep financial committment to it.

I'm guessing that DVD sales will help to boost their profit and return on investment.

4. Yeah.. Guess I'll have to wait on the dVD
What pains me though is that they get you hooked on the first season then lag two or three years for the rest and I loose interest and patience (e.g., Six Foot Under)

5. Six Feet Under Hasn't Totally Lost Me Yet... But The Sopranos?? Forget it!
Goodbye Tony! I'm not investing ANY of myself in that show this year.

6. Carnivale Tarot reading here!
Get a Carnivale Tarot reading here. Since I don't have cable, I've been having fun with it. Spooky.

8. Did You Notice That Your Name Is "Carved" On The Table Top...
... where you're getting your Tarot reading? (Well... the name you used to identify yourself when logging-in to the game.)

It says "Allen Was Here".

Clever. -- And just one more example of the "small-details" that they are really paying attention to.

7. Yeah, fascinating show
I'm hooking after just watching 2 episodes. The murder of the "big tittie" girl last week was really shocking in Babylon.

9. I don't get HBO **sniffle**
I just can't pay the cable company another penny. My basic and internet runs 90 freaking dollars a month. But starting Oct 28 I will be catching up on last season's Sopranos. Oh yes, I will.
