A few months ago I caught six or seven minutes of "American Idol" by accident, while waiting for some take-out food in a restaurant.

I seriously thought that the clammy hand of the Reaper had patted me on the back of the head and taunted me with images of what awaited me once he claimed me for good. Then the mephitic vision was quickly stolen away as my buffalo wings arrived.

7. this season they actually have some talent
it's the first time I've ever watched it. Call it the curse of TIVO. It's just too easy. Of course, it only takes me about 20 minutes to watch an hour show since I fast through the parts I can't take.

So that's my guilty confession. I watch it now.

After Kelly Clarkson's winning second album, I decided to try it out - and find it to be nice entertainment.

Tonight's show was not so good, though. When I think Nikko was the best of the night, it's an odd night. There are so many good show tunes they could have chosen, but didn't. At least my favorite, Bo, chose one that he could do his best with. By his own admission, show tunes aren't his strength.
