I hate it when computer games are too easy, but I'm obsessed
I played a game that was new to me on the msn games website. I like getting high scores and achieving a high star rating on the various games I play. Anyway, I played this game for three hours last night. It didn't seem to be getting any harder as the levels advanced. I finally let myself lose. To my suprise, I only got a 5 star rating. I have to get a little bit high score to get a super star rating. This has happened to me with two other games on that website. With the two other games, at least I wasn't automatically awesome at the game. I had to play those several times to be playing them indefinitely. After a certain level though, they just didn't get any harder and I eventually got tired of playing the game. Does anyone else get annoyed by these games? Am I nuts that I take getting huge scores on these games seriously that I will continue playing them instead of just quitting when I get tired? Really, I need to accomplish something significant in my life so I won't have to do this.

1. You are nuts to waste so much time on these games...
But you'll realize that when you get in your 50s, I suppose...

2. Why?
If he/she is having fun doing it, that's more than a lot of people ever get to experience.

Of course, a good book is as good or better than a good video game.

3. I got simultaneously addicted to and infuriated with Minesweeper
I would spend hours desperately trying to get the easy level best score from 4 seconds to 3; and similarly with the higher levels.

4. Ok, got it. The trick is to get obsessed with something that

NOT only gives you pleasure, but also pays off... If you are obsessed about something that pays off you are unstoppable... With a videogame it's basically time down the drain... OK, you have some minor fun on the moment (note that from the description of it, e.g., the use of the word "desperately", it does not seem like these people are having fun at all!!)... But nothing else, it stops there...
