11. Matt Groening has said it's not KY
that the "behind the laughter" episode (which, like all post-'99 simpsons, is horrid, btw) was an out-of-continuity episode, like the halloween specials, and din't count

the power plant parking lot extends to next door to the simpsons house. in other episodes, the school is within sight. it's all flexible
