A few people encouraged me to join my middle school's (and later my high school's) wrestling team. I liked wrestling (though to this day I've never wrestled my whole life). I was considering going out for wrestling, but I didn't because, frankly, I was not in shape at the time.

How about you?

1. I could turn faster times
in the 40 yard dash then anyone in my high school. I could also catch any football thrown in my general direction. In gym class I would regularly beat the football team's wide receivers. The coach wanted me on the team, but I had to work after school so I couldn't. I always wondered whether I could have played college ball, but the same problem existed, work. :)

2. When I was in the first grade, I walked by the Kindergarten area
the Friday before Easter. I noticed that the teacher had placed large construction paper eggs with numbers on them in the garden. The kids would begin the hunt soon. I went over and tore up 2-3 of these eggs and then walked home. To this day, I don't know why I did this.

4. Hmmmm..
Well.. I played hookie once or twice, but overall I was a pretty good student. O8)

Only tried to forge a note from my parents once (and got caught.. the teacher didn't buy it) :evilfrown:

As far as sports.. I didn't play on any of the high school teams, but played on a local girl's comp hockey team. These days they have girl's teams in hockey here, but not when I was there.

6. I tried to stage a coup on the cheerleading squad.
I accused our captain of being a dictator. I lobbied the other cheerleaders to stand up for their rights (iow, being able to pick out which outfits we wanted to wear to the games). They all chickened out on me and I lost the battle. I was pretty much blackballed from there on out.

7. I hated pep rallies
They were compulsory, and I thought they were a waste of time. Besides, they always reminded me of the Nuremberg Rallies. My occasional boyfriend and I used to make a point of sitting there and not jumping up to cheer.
