So I have Jewel's "Pieces of You" album. But when I tried checking out
snippets of her more recent stuff it sounded like club music.

To quote Jon Stewart, "Whaaaa!?"

1. yeah, sadly, Jewel's progresion from contemporary folk to pop was rapid
I have her first two CD's which I think are awesome, but then she apparently decided to go the Brittany Spears/Jessica Simpson route. :-(

3. Spirit
It's in the same vain as here initial album, but this one is more produced, rather than just her playing the guitar and singing. If you like the first one, you'll like this one, too. ;-)

4. Yeah. I was disappointed by her going that route.
She really lost her niche.

5. I wonder what prompted her to do that? I thought the Phoebe Buffay route
was a good one. *Mind you, she can write better songs than "Smelly Cat"*

6. NPR did a piece on her..
When that came out and I remember they used the phrase "She reinvented herself." I.E She sold out. Ugh.

I saw her last year for free and she was great. Just her and her acoustic guitar.

great! Super hottie too. haven't heard any of the new stuff but I don't think I'm going to like it.
