I have to admit I was wrong about the american version of The Office
It's still nowhere near as good as the original brit version and Steve Carrell doesn't even come close to Ricky Gervais.

But once I get past that, I have actually laughed at the american version more than I do most American sitcoms.

Last night's bit with the guy asking the employees which of them have particular ailments so he can determine if they should be covered under the medical plan made me laugh out loud.

The key is that they definitely captured the no laugh track, uncomfortable silences pretty well.

Again, it's nowhere even in the ballpark of the original but it's not as dreadful as I had anticipated it being.

1. Ricky Gervais is one of a kind.
There was no reproducing him... but I'm glad to hear it's still not bad.

2. I tried BBC office
I love BBC Coupling, but I just couldn't get into it.

but I do say NBC's office is pretty good. it's getting better the more you learn about the four main employees.

3. That's odd....since the type of humor is exactly the same...
..in fact the first 2 episodes were directly from scripts from the british version.

Oh well. Humor is entirely subjective.
