we did wear Converse back in the punk Stone Age. They were not always a trend.

I agree about the Hot Topic thing, though, that place is scary. Full of middle aged moms buying their tween daughters scary, scary ( and inappropriate) clothes that I cetainly never wore when I was going to see bands.

19. no the t-shirts and stuff were cool

it was the homogenization of it and the kids buying school clothes that weirded me out. More because I come from the time when you weren't even supposed to make a ... shhhh ... record. ( that was considered selling out. That's why it is so ironic.)

The Daily Show had a segment on Republican punks a while back. Classic Daily Show segment. I believe Ed Helms interviewed the webmaster of GOPUNK.com or some similarly named website. It's unfortunate that so many consider punks to all be Nazi skinheads, there "conservative" punks are no better.

Nothing like a punk fighting for the staus quo.
