I saw Bill Maher tonight.
Great show. Hit all the usual buttons, and a couple of new ones. A surprise, though-when he started to get on Bush about lying, the leak, etc., a couple guys in the audience were displeased, to say the least. He told them they were welcome to leave and he would personally give them their money back, or they could stay and shut up. My question is-what did these people think they were going to hear? If they didn't know anything about his show and his humor, why were they there? All in all, great show. If you get a chance to see him, do it.

2. Were you at a live taping?
What did these guys say to Maher, exactly? Will it be broadcast with exchanges intact? I bet they were paid off by somebody, this is either very Rove-ian or very LaRouche-ian.

3. No, it wasn't a live taping.
It was just Bill, doing his stand-up thing. It was at a small theatre in Red Bank, New Jersey. What the guys said was, Give it a rest (when he started in on Bush) and He's our President and That's enough. You know, just ignorant stuff. But they were loud and Bill replied to them and they didn't make another peep after that. I just wondered why they were there, you know? It's not like it was free. Why pay money to see someone if you know that what they say is going to upset you? I wouldn't pay to hear Ann Coulter.

4. Jeez. Well, freepers have been known to do stupid things, believe it
or not! Kudos to Maher for handling the situation like he did. Kind of reminds me of a Fugazi show I saw, where Ian Mackaye did the exact same thing to a bunch of skinheads...
