We went out to the pizza place for dinner. My mom, her best friend, her friends fiance and I.

So we we get our pizza and and we eat and are having a good time(they were all drinking wine and being silly).
Anyway we're the last people in there and the young guy who makes the pizza comes over and asks if it was good. We say yes, and he said that's good because he spent a little more time on it, because he had seen the fiance around before and thought he would be nice to the locals (we live in a tourist town) and so we all introduce ourselves, he leaves because he has a take out order in the oven.

As soon as he leaves they all start teasing me!

"Oooh he was cute!" "He didn't come over here to meet us!" "Should we go ask him for his number?"

All of that stuff. They embarrassed me!!!!!!! Mean, mean mommy and friends! :blush:

My mother and grandmother used to "scout talent" for me, as if I couldn't perceive the interesting guys for myself, but their idea of a desirable young man was almost always clearly (to me anyway) gay.

I'd protest that the young man they had zeroed in on "wasn't my type" and "wasn't likely to be interested in me" (this was the late 1960s-early 1970s, and nice Midwestern suburban ladies didn't talk about homosexuality), my mother and grandmother would say, "What does that matter? You can practice on him." :eyes:

Shortly after I graduated from college, I was attending the weddings of a lot of friends, and my mother and grandmother would sit around drawing up the guest list for my hypothetical wedding, concentrating on people to whose children they had given expensive wedding gifts. Their plan was to fill up the guest lists with all those people who "owed" them. :eyes:

Maybe that's why I'm not married. :-)

that reminds me of my dad. He used to ask me when I was in love with a guy "And, how is YOUR ...." or "How is little ....". And most of the times those guys weren't even interested in me :blush:

Or, when I was an intern in Glasgow, Scotland, I was standing around with librarians and this one told me, well, you have to go out, meet nice guys and is looking demonstrately to a security guy I though cute. :blush: ... ok, I had a little fun going on with this guy later on during my 6 weeks there :evilgrin:

but you have to imagine I was 21, innocent (more or less) and shy. I was flirting with him for a while but I actually managed to go out with him before I had to leave. When I was back in Germany, I called a friend. She asked me how it was. My response "OH. MY. GOD." Her reply "What happened? ... lol. I had a great time in Glasgow. And I learned a lot about myself. I had another guy there fancing me also, but that is another story and would lock the thread :evilgrin:

What you really mean is they have good pizza boys. Admit it. Don't worry about getting his number, just give him yours - casually, almost accidentally - just write it down and pass it to him casually - that way he knows you think he's cute and you don't want to make a big deal out of it.
