2. Hey!!
That's some DU'ers psychaitrist - she (I think she) posted last week that her psychaitrist had a habit of picking things out of his hair and eating them during their sessions. I, sensibly enough, informed her that her psychaitrist was a gorilla.

And there he is! Right again.

6. I had no idea.
However, I don't usually go about sticking my fingers in a gorilla's face. :D

Did you know that a baby raccoon's paws are soft as velvet, also? The adults also have rather soft skin, but they develop callouses from walking. The soft skin is to facilitate the animals' amazing sense of touch. Raccoons may have the most advanced sense of touch in the animal kingdom.

8. I never have had the
chance to feel a raccoon but I do like them. When I worked at the zoo we used to bring frozen yogurt back for the gorillas and the orangs, they loved it. We would spoon feed them and be able to rub their noses. They are amazing creatures except the orangs spit at you and they have amazing aim, even from a distance.

9. I didn't know that orangutans could spit, either. :)
I do understand they're very mechanically-minded and are very good escape artists.

I've always rather liked gorillas. I think they're my favorite great ape, both the lowland and the mountain varieties. :)

7. Mist shrouds the mountains. Since this is a lowland gorilla...
...I'm not surprised by the lack of mist. :)

Then again, I bet there's often fog from the swamps and rivers.
