not specifically aimed at the people who do the actual work -- just at the companies they work for
so we needed a new kitchen stove - has to be propane and what it called "apartment size"
after a few weeks of running around - we find one, but the store won't do the installation because it's propane and needs to have an adapter/conversion kit -- we were told that we would have to have our propane dealer/service center do it (meanwhile when we uncrated the stove there was NO conversion kit, so I started looking through the manual and come to find out the conversion "kit" is already installed and to switch from reg. gas to propane only requires flipping a couple switches.....grrrrrrrrrr)
we buy the stove and bring it home, contact our propane dealer and arrange for them to install the stove on Thursday (yesterday). They couldn't come first thing in the morning, but gave us a "window" of after 12noon... They even called Wednesday night to confirm that "window"
my partner arranges to take a 1/2 day off from work to be home for the service people. She gets home around quarter to 12 -- the answering machine is blinking -- the message is from the propane service -- THEY WERE AT THE HOUSE AT 9:00 am that morning....
my partner calls the propane service and reams them a new "one" -- they said they would send someone "RIGHT OVER - so sorry - girl wrote it down wrong...mumble mumble"
well, I guess they are on a different time and space continuum -- "right over" turned out to be 4pm....
the propane service we originally used was bought out by this new one -- and since the buy-out we've had nothing but trouble with them -- two weeks ago they filled our propane tank and gave us a bill for someone else -- several phone calls have not cleared up that problem although we have been assured that they will send us the correct bill
we are now looking at other propane services and will be switching companies....
