My liberal mom died two years ago today--

When Bush 1 was running, she and my dad were forced to stop their car at a railroad crossing for a campaign whistle stop-photo op. When George I walked up to her, she turned her back. She told me, "I'll be damned if they are going to take a picture of me with that man!"

A wonderful mom, a wonderful person. She was 83. I miss her.
