1. I've always loved TMQ, but

The column in question was pretty boneheaded. He made an ass of himself, and he still doesn't get it: the ethnicity of movie executives is irrelevant to their true religion as Mammonites. He expects all jews to know better? I thought Easterbrook had more sense.

I'll miss what was the witttiest, funniest, most entertaining sports column I've ever read.

2. yes, as a professional writer, he was rather clumsy in trying to

express his feeling on a rather touchy subject. it seems the nature of the violence of the film deeply offended his religious sensibilities and clouded his judgement.

i enjoyed TMQ cause he watched a game the same way i do, looking for the stratagies, tactics and trends, with a few zingers at the personalities that populate the game.
