Help w/ Firefox!
Edited on Fri Apr-15-05 06:02 PM by Hatalles
Okay, so I just installed Firefox today and have been using it to browse the web for an hour or so... It runs pretty well -- images seem to load a tad slower though. I like the visual links bar under the URL line.

But here's my problem -- the TABS bar. When I'm visiting a site, I'll have several tabs open up to pages related to that site which I didn't even click on. Example -- I was on Gamespot.com and was checking out a game while a tab opened up for the news section of the site, the XBOX home page of the site, etc.

Now, when I just opened up DU, logged in, and opened a thread, another tab opened up. When I switched to that tab, it displayed a page that stated 'this user has now been added to your ignore list.' I went to the manage ignore page and unselected the user Firefox ignored for me.

What am I doing wrong... or why does Firefox enjoy clicking on links I don't want to click?

1. You can get extesions that help you define what you want
If you open tools>extensions then "get more extensions",
look for Tabbrowser Preferences and easyGestures.
These two helped me a lot. There are many more extensions
that you may choose to use.

:)

4. Another 'extension' is called Tab Mix - similar to Tabbrowser Prefs.

Anyway, the point is, you can control the behavior of those tabs, and how you prefer them to work.

Me, I like to have most clicked links show up in new tabs, except those that remain on the parent site -- but that's just me. I also use the multi-row format, with the 'close tab' button on the corner of each one.
