-- that he knows what he's talking about.
I realize that John Kennedy did not write all of his own speeches and had significant help.
But the difference was he reached to the talented writer, to the lyrical and poetic language that would exalt.
Dubya dumbs everything down to rock bottom and then smirks his way through that. No wonder our allies laugh at us.
Can we do the election again? tomorrow? I think just about any of the Democrats/Greens/socialists etc. would have been a more persuasive, articulate statesman or stateswoman.
10. OldCrusoe, you're right. Bush selects the oddest people to write
for him. I saw the fellow who wrote the 'axis of evil' speech on Maher Friday night (with Wes Clark). He was like Uriah Heap with the Plague. The audience laughed when he spoke and Clark either slapped him down or gave him the hardest stares, dripping with contempt. The guy was defenseless and a joke. God in Heaven, what did we do to deserve this?
