Boston DU Gathering - looks like i won't be able to make it.

i'm sure everybody is bummed out, but i got tickets to Richard Thompson at the Tampa Theatre the night before.

Tickets for the Austin City Limits Festival went on sale yesterday. Full line-up announced May 6.

I prefer SXSW to ACL anyway. I might akip ACL this year unless the line-up is too good to pass up. A lot of the bands play separately from the festival too.

But, I have the ticket so a Boston trip is in the cards soon. Just not this time. I think I will avoid all the "What a Great Time!" threads for at least a month.

8. His guitar solo in "How will I ever be simple again" is

hands down, the best acoustic guitar solo (as part of a song, rather than an instrumental) ever, in my opinion.

Thought the guitar work in "Vincent black lightning" ain't half bad, neither.

Solo acoustic would definitely be the Thompson concert to see. Have fun!

also with his band. solo acoustic guitar master then totally rocks electric with his band.

he's just other worldly with a guitar in his hands.
