Newborn Foster Kittens - lots of photos
Okay my house is officially a zoo. I now have 13 kittens, and their 2 mama's, a one-eyed cat, and another foster mama whose babies are in the sick ward. Add that to my dog, the dog we adopted today and my cat. I know I'm crazy, but isn't it great?

Anyway here are some photos.

Ginger and her 5 babies born today:

Here are some photos of Lily and her 6 babies that are about 10 days old (I got them after they were born). She has three white babies, one grey, one black and one tabby. Three girls and three boys.

Here are Reggie and Otto, both about eight weeks old. They are my twin buff boys.

Life is good..

16. He is actually tiny..
The photo makes him look bigger. At eight weeks he is only 1.6 oz which is tiny. He should be over 2 lbs at this point.

5. oh my-- I'm so jealous....
I'm at carrying capacity here-- a bit over, in fact, so it's no kittens for me for a while. Having cats is wonderful, but having kittens is one of the best things in life. You are most fortunate.

7. They are so sweet
I can't understand how people can be athesists. Sometimes life is so magical, it had to be the work of a higher power.

These pictures made me very happy. I hope you, your family and whoever adopts the little kittens get many years of love and happiness from them.

Take good care of the moms. They deserve it. O8)

17. I've been wondering how you've been
with all this.

Another thought. I bet the pure white cats turn out to have Siamese or Snowshoe markings! You'll know within a few weeks.

Daddy might have been a Siamese or Snowshoe.

Your little girl looks really attached to that yellow boy!

22. My little girl is attached to all of them
She has a hard time letting go. She is very emotional like her Mommy. I'm hoping that this whole experience will benefit her and help to make her stronger.

The white cats do have a couple of darker marks but only on their heads. Does that make them snowshoe? I have very little experience when it comes to identifying cat breeds.

23. Siamese are born all white
they then develop their masks as they mature. Siamese cats vary their darkness as well depending on temperature. My Pad Thai is a lilac and developed his marking very late. He was still a mostly all white cat when I adopted him at 5 months. I was surprised to see him mature and suddenly develop his beautiful face mask a few months later. I don't have a picture on hand right now of what he looked like then, he was cute and beautiful, but he didn't look all that Siames.

Snowshoes are usually mixed bread Siamese cats with white feet (thus the snow shoes!).

Reggie and Otto are an incredible pair. If I was looking to adopt rather then foster I would keeep those two. I know someone is going to be really luck to get them. They totally balance each other out in every way.

32. Your problem might be soon gone
Google the news for cat allergies, because there is a brand new theory for people with allergies to cats--it's almost a miracle cure having to do with mice genes of all things! It was in the news last week.

26. Hard to believe they will soon be asocial predators
running some poor sap's life, pushing on her nose to wake her up at 4:30am each morning, knocking over her things willy-nilly, bringing dead birds and mice into the house, vomiting in odd places at odd times, shredding the toilet paper, biting and swatting someone 20x their size with impunity, stealing fish directly from her plate, and rarely crawling in her lap for a snuggle.

They look so sweet and innocent.

Thanks Prozac for posting these photos. Just what I needed today :)

You've got tons of orange babies there, sure wish we were closer in location. I'd take one.

Bless you for opening up your house to the animals. You're a regular St. Franc"ES" of Assisi!!

Here's Manilla now (he's almost 3 years):

30. How cute!
I wish I could get a new little kitten, but alas we already have 5 cats (two are mine).

I remember after Mia had her litter (she was pregnant when I adopted her), they were so cute. It was hard to give them up, but they were all going to really good homes (one went to a lady that worked at the emergency pet clinic).

40. i'd need to test it somehow
I'd need to bring a kitten in my house first and see how my dog reacts to it. The last time I had a cat in the house (an adult) my dog went BERSERK! The only time I've seen her snarl like a viscious beast!
